Dedicated to Debbe Smith (1954-2014) a virtual friend whose unexpected passing was the impetus for making this film. she was an entrepeneur and restauranteur in new york, a sister, daughter, partner and pure light to all who knew her. she was funny, thoughtful and so very caring. debbe passed suddenly from a heart attack, behind the wheel of her car. the investigators on scene noted that it was obvious that, no doubt in horrendous pain and losing conciousness, she willed herself to have the strength to steer the car off the road to avoid hurting anyone and bring it to a stop. that perfectly exmplifies who she was.
Tammie Landry Hale (1963-2018) composed the original score for itrw and was an accomplished mezzo-soprano soloist, and pianist as well as a composer, a wife and a mother and grandmother. She was my very dear, decades long friend irl, who could render a french quarter saloon silent with her rendition of jazz, pop or torch songs, or be the center of any cocktail party with her incredible, intelligent humor or piano accompaniment. she was also a featured soloist with the new orleans symphony, and a phenomenal home chef. as a personal tribute, i have posted the recording of her original song for this film, on my youtube channel. follow this link to listen.
