I’m laine, a boomer WITH CREDENTIALS AND SCARS, and a retired maker of doc’ films, but currently still writing and producing. I have also renewed a hobby as a nature photog to help promote conservation of our environment and wildlife and to defend against the the current climate and geopolitical crises. additionally, We always acknowledge, respect and honor the Indigenous and Traditional Custodians of the lands upon which we travel. take only photos, leave only footprints.

I spent my childhood in waco,texas while my dad was stationed at twelfth hq there during his career in the u.s. Air force. after his death, my formative years were mostly in new orleans, louisiana (which will forever be my “home”). since then, i’ve lived in many places in/outside of the united states, most memorably, my ancestral motherland of france. (i am a descendant of Hélène broussard and charles de valois from the 1250’s) currently, i have settled in the amazingly beautiful pacific northwest of america, a great place for soul restoration.

i’ve been writing manuscripts and screenplays since the 70’s, and founded my first film production company in 1997. i’ve had 2 not-film careers since graduating from university, but filmmaking and writing have always my lifeblood. I was on an artist visa in france as a director/réalisatrice, While producing our screenplay echoe, and am still eligible to work outside the U.S. (current political situation, circa 2025, not withstanding). I cannot claim that i am “fluent” en français, but i know people. i also speak limited Español and american sl.
